Hannah (my daughter) has recently turned 10 and is playing very well at the moment in the events. She also plays in the EASB Junior Tour and recently played in the English Amateur, taking a frame off the Pontins champion Kyren Wilson.

In each era there have been great ladies champions and players and hopefully Hannah will take up the mantle of Reanne Evans (3 x world champion and Ladies England Team partner) or her successor. The only problem is whether there will be any other ladies to compete with her or will she just have to battle it out with the lads - which she seems to be capable of doing at the moment.

There is a new event in the ladies calendar called "The Masters" which is a guaranteed prize funded sponsored event thats is open with the higher ranked players after a season and wildcards for achievement through the season. This seems the have attracted a few of the familiar names in the game such as Katie Hendrick and Laura Evans who are now fighting for ranking points.

3 events have been played so far this season. All of them have been won by Reanne Evans and all finals have been contested by Reanne and June Banks. The events are UK Championship, British Open and Ladies East Anglian Championship. 2 of the events were held in Derby and 1 in Cambridge.

There is a Ladies Southern Classic in Brighton on 10th February and slowly
but surely ladies snooker is making it around the country to new venues.

Hannah has a very full itinerary which involves alot of media interviews and for a girl of her tender age she handles it all exceptionally well.

Hannah does have other interests, notably dance where she performs tap and jazz, and she is a keen tennis player as well and perfoms well at her weekly lessions.

Hannah currently only plays a couple of times a week with her busy lifelstyle and it is hoped that as her profile grows that she manages to get more practice and improve on her game.
