Amarnath is a renowned Billiards and Snooker player having played on the PRO circuit from 1996 to 2000 and for over four decades in the Indian circuit. He has been held the No 3 position amongst Seniors in Snooker in India. He has been the Maharashtra No 1/ 2 for a number of years.

He has been into Coaching in Snooker and Billiards for the past 20 years or so in Mumbai/Pune.
